Vanda tessellata is a striking wild orchid species native to South and Southeast Asia, admired for its tall, monopodial growth habit and intricately patterned flowers. This species produces long, upright stems with strap-like leaves and develops arching flower spikes that carry multiple long-lasting blooms.

The flowers are typically pale greenish-yellow to creamy tones with distinctive brown or purple tessellated (checkered or net-like) markings across the petals and sepals. This unique patterning gives the species its name and makes it highly recognizable among Vanda orchids. The blooms are often fragrant and can last for several weeks under good conditions.
