KUL219- Rhyn. gigantea Spotted (Bare Root)
Type: Species Orchid (Rhynchostylis)
Description
Rhynchostylis gigantea (Spotted form) is a highly decorative, fragrant orchid species known for its dense, cascading flower clusters and uniquely patterned blooms. This form is selected for its distinctive spotting, where each waxy flower is marked with rich red to burgundy spots over a white, pink, or pale background, creating a highly ornamental, speckled appearance.
The plant grows in a monopodial habit with thick, strap-like leaves and strong aerial roots. Flower spikes emerge from the leaf axils and develop into heavy, pendant clusters that can carry dozens to over a hundred long-lasting blooms in mature plants.
A standout feature of this species is its strong, sweet fragrance, which is especially noticeable in the morning and late afternoon, making it highly prized among collectors of scented orchids.
