KUL218- Rhyn. gigantea Red x Ply (Bare Root)
Type: Species / Primary Color Form Cross (Rhynchostylis)
Description
Rhynchostylis gigantea (Red × Yellow form) is a fragrant, warm-growing orchid known for its dense, cascading flower clusters and richly colored blooms. This form is a selected color cross emphasizing strong red tones blended with yellow influences, often producing warm orange-red to red-orange floral displays.
The plant produces thick, strap-like leaves arranged in a monopodial growth habit, similar to Vandas, along with strong aerial roots. Flower spikes emerge from the leaf axils and develop into heavy, pendulous clusters packed with waxy, long-lasting blooms.
A key feature of Rhynchostylis gigantea is its powerful fragrance, especially noticeable in the morning and evening, making it a favorite among collectors of scented orchids.
